LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES

Thursday evening Book Study Group:
We are studying about prayer in many various forms and traditions. Thursdays, at 7pm.

Wednesday Morning Bible Class:
The Prayer Book study continues in the undercroft after the 9:15 Eucharist. All are welcome.

Wednesday Summer Evening Book Study Group: 7- 8pm from June 6 - August 29
We will meet and discuss “How People Grow: What the Bible Reveals About Personal Growth” by Dr. Henry Cloud and Dr. John Townsend. Concepts of the book include “the essential processes that make people grow and how those processes fit into biblical understanding of spiritual growth and theology” and “how spiritual growth and real-life issues are one and the same.” Please join the group for lively discussion, learning and growth and spiritual fellowship. Please sign up on the clipboard at church or contact Pam Thatcher, so that headcounts may be taken and an appropriate number of books may be ordered. A short planning meeting for the group will be at 9:30 on May 27th between services. Please contact Father Scott or Pam Thatcher (880-4706) for more information.

Education for Ministry, affectionately known as EFM, is a program of theological education-at-a-distance of the School of Theology of the University of the South. Students sign up one year at a time for this four year program. It covers the basics of a theological education in the Old and New Testaments, church history, liturgy, and theology. Students meet regularly, usually once a week, in seminars under the guidance of trained mentors. The program grants a certificate at the completion of the four years and 18 Continuing Education Unites for each year’s work. We hope to have eight members in the September 2007 class. See Fr. Scott if interested.
