LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES

Sunday Morning Adult Sunday School: Life long Episcopalians, newcomers or somewhere in between.....Deacon Hank will be leading a book discussion “Welcome to Sunday”. This book offers a step-by-step introduction to the Sunday Liturgy, with an emphasis on how lay people can participate. The class will meet in the Adult Sunday School Room between the 8am and 10:30am services. Deacon Hank says “The good news is, we buy the books, we don’t take roll, you don’t have to participate in the discussions...Just Attend.” Do you bring your children to Sunday School? Well, now you can attend Sunday School too! DEACON HANK WANTS YOU. Sign up at the Parish Picnic or on the clipboard in the undercroft.

Thursday evening Book Study Group will soon be reading a new book, Amazing Grace, by Kathleen Norris. Norris writes about the reclaiming of her Christian faith after 20 years away and her difficulties with what she calls the “scary” words of Christianity - words like eschatology...antichrist...righteous...dogma...We meet on Thursday nights from 7-8pm. Join us if you can. The book lends itself to joining at anytime. Please see Deacon Diana or Toby Wingert for further information.

Wednesday Morning Bible Class: This week our study continues with the Book of Common Prayer. Anyone that would like to come is very welcome!

WEDNESDAY JOURNEYS
The kickoff for Wednesday Journeys will be August 29, here at Holy Spirit, from 6:30 - 8pm. The first Wednesday Journeys meeting will be September 12. We encourage all parents and their children in 7-12 grade to attend the Kickoff Meeting. Both adults and youth will get an overview of what to expect throughout the year. A result of an Alleluia Fund Grant this program is a tri-church effort. St. Luke’s in Plattsmouth, St. Martha’s in Papillion, and Church of the Holy Spirit have joined together to create a program that incorporates spiritual guidance, growth and fun while providing a safe environment for the peer fellowship of our children. Please sign up for the Kickoff on the clipboard in the undercroft.
